Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan, who joined forces to clinch the £100,000 William Hill Mile at Goodwood yesterday, aim to add to their spoils at Chester tomorrow.
The Ryedale trainer and jockey team up with Definite Guest in the £15,000 Mail On Sunday/Tote Mile Handicap (Qualifier) and the gelding, a winner at York and Newbury last month, has strong claims after a creditable effort at Goodwood earlier in the week.
Definite Guest was stepped-up to ten furlongs from a mile on his latest outing and finished a creditable third. He will, however, appreciate tomorrow's return to a distance just short of eight furlongs and will surely get a furious gallop, which seems to suit him.
From a stable in blinding form, Definite Guest can keep Fahey and Hanagan firmly in the spotlight.
Peak To Creek is napped to show his rivals a clean pair of heels in the opening Halliwell Jones BMW Nursery Handicap.
Jeremy Noseda's useful juvenile, a good winner at Haydock two outings ago, has since scored impressively at Redcar.
Capable of going on to better things, Peak To Creek is strongly fancied to oblige again.
Mark Johnston, who completed his record tenth consecutive century of winners at Goodwood earlier this week with Knavesmire Omen, saddles the same horse in the £25,000 sportingoptions.co.uk Rated Handicap.
A horse who has never stopped improving throughout the last 12 months, Knavesmire Omen is at his best when stamina is at a premium, and should be in his element over this extended two-and-a-quarter miles.
The £35,000 Cheshire Life Queensferry Stakes takes pride of place at Chester and although Golden Nun could have been better drawn, Tim Easterby's smart filly should not be underestimated, with Dale Gibson in the saddle.
At Newbury, Kieren Fallon is expected to be among the winners, including aboard Go Bananas in the Lawton Communications Group Nursery over seven furlongs.
A winner last time out from the in-form Brian Meehan yard, Go Bananas looks a progressive type, who is handily weighted in this handicap.
Milton Bradley, on the mark with The Tatling - now on course for the Nunthorpe Stakes on Knavesmire later this month - at Goodwood this week, can take further sprinting honours with Whistler in the Hill McGlynn Wessex Heartbeat Handicap.
Over the sticks at Market Rasen, Italian Counsel will be a popular order in the Pender TFL Handicap Hurdle.
