A YORKSHIRE declaration of the county's integrity is read out in the shadow of Micklegate Bar by Christopher Dronsfield, centre, from the Saddleworth White Rose Society.
The ceremony was part of York's celebrations marking Yorkshire Day.
Four declarations in Latin, Old English, Old Norse and Modern English were read at Micklegate, Bootham, Monk and Walmgate bars.
Similar declarations were also being read out in Goole market square, although there the ceremony involved use of an East Riding dialect version.
