A DEVASTATED York man told today how his beloved Golf GTi was wiped out by a hit-and-run driver.
Matthew Graham, 28, was shocked to discover a grey BMW had smashed into the back of his limited edition car, which was parked in Malvern Avenue, Acomb.
The force of the collision caused the Golf to plough into a parked Ford Fiesta.
Witnesses said the BMW was being driven by a man who then fled the scene in the direction of Lindsay Avenue.
The incident happened at 7.45pm yesterday.
Mr Graham, a teacher, said: "I'm absolutely gutted - my boot has been completely caved in."
A police spokesman said the matter was under investigation.
Anyone with information should phone York police on 01904 631321.
