THE Archbishop of York, Dr David Hope, raised his hat today to a new fire station at Huntington, York, during its official opening ceremony.
He was joined by York divisional fire officer Graham Buckle at the new station which opened last year, but has only become fully-operational in the past few months.
The modern station, which has direct access on to the A1237 York ring road, is now run by a 15-strong team of retained firefighters with two full-time sub officers.
