SWIMMERS can look at plans for the revamped York Barbican Centre while taking a dip at Yearsley Swimming Pool, which reopened today.
The pool had been shut for a month for essential safety work after bolts from its roof were found in the water.
City of York Council safety chiefs have now confirmed the pool, in Haley's Terrace, off Haxby Road, is safe, and it reopened at 7am today.
Cosmetic improvements to the pool have also been carried out. To coincide with the reopening, the council has moved the Barbican consultation boards from the centre to the Yearsley pool until noon on Monday. They will then be at the Yortime Resource Centre until Friday, August 8, the closing date for responses.
The council is asking residents whether they would like to see the city get a county standard swimming pool at the Barbican or would prefer a community pool, which would leave £1.4 million to refurbish the Yearsley and Edmund Wilson pools.
Consultation leaflets are available from the three pools, York Central Library or the Yortime Resource Centre. Residents can also complete an on-line version on www.york.gov.uk or email yortime@york.gov.uk.
