ALL'S fair in love and war at an East Yorkshire pub as husband and wife prepare to go head-to-head at a charity cricket match.
Customers at the Swordsman Inn, at Stamford Bridge, are donning their cricket whites next Thursday to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Landlady of the Swordsman, Margaret Smith is playing for one team, dubbed the Welburn Wanderers, while her husband, Carl, will be batting against her in the Swordsman Inn team.
Margaret said they had decided to hold the charity match because the wife of one of the pub's regulars had recently died of cancer.
The match, which has been organised by pub customer Anthea Henderson, will start at 6pm, at Stamford Bridge Cricket Club.
All the players will be sponsored and a raffle will also be held to raise money.
