The study centre at the Royal Horticultural Society's garden at Harlow Carr, Harrogate, is the venue for "a visual tribute to the natural world".
The beautiful 58-acre gardens provide a stunning setting for this exhibition which features paintings, drawings, printmaking and sculpture by 24 of Yorkshire's best artists.
Popular York artists,Richard and Valerie Bell have works on display. Retired architect Richard Collick has some beautifully-executed scenes of Venice and Florence which reflect his interest in classical and baroque architecture.
Works of sculpture by Jennifer Tetlow, who is self taught and works exclusively in stone, are on display inside the centre and outside in the adjacent garden.
Her pieces are carved from soapstone and fine-grained Yorkshire stone, and include a raven in soapstone and a pointing figure. Both are soft, curvaceous sculptures which cry out to be touched.
There are some beautiful landscapes on display by, among others, Leeds Fine Art Club member Annie Robinson.
The most exciting works on display are the bright acrylics of fishing villages and harbour scenes by Nikky Corker. These joyful works are in the modern style of straight brush strokes, almost block-like in close-up - a style which is immediately recognisable and enjoyable.
Richard Greenwoods' pastels of the Northumberland and Cornish coasts are also outstanding.
This exhibition features very high quality works of art in diverse media and works are on sale at affordable prices and there are also some prints and greetings cards to buy.
Harlow Carr is a good day out for all the family, but this exhibition can only make a visit more rewarding and interesting. It is open daily from 11am to 5pm; the gardens, from 9.30am to 6pm.
