NORTH Yorkshire can be proud of its child care professionals. Teachers from the county's schools have won national awards, and now Jane Smith from Boroughbridge has been named Childminder of the Year.
The judges praised Jane's professionalism and commitment. Her honour also recognises and endorses the work of all good childminders, who are increasingly important in modern Britain.
Working with three and four year olds, this is the highest achievement possible, save for being made a saint. That might still happen - Jane must have the patience of one.
