ONE of York's best-known buildings has been put up for sale.
Inquiries had been pouring in about the sale of Grade II listed Foss Bridge House, home to ironmongers FR Stubbs for many years. But no planning permission was in place for the building, so it was not previously on the market. Permission has now been secured for two flats in the upper part of the building and seven flats at the rear, and the building is officially available.
Alan Black, of Blacks Property Consultants, said: "It is pleasing to see that a central site in our city can still get the attention of those developers located in the south, as well as those nearer home."
