WE might characterise Sasha Consiglio's work as car wreck art: it is not pretty, but you cannot help but look.
It is surprising that old dolls in coffins still have the power to shock in an era when photographs of bullet-ridden bodies are front page news. But it is all about context. The Slug and Lettuce is a family-friendly pub, and some diners and their children might be put off their pasta by the glassy-eyed stares of the exhibits.
We applaud the pub both for its commitment to art and for handling the complaints sensitively. As for Sasha: next stop the Turner Prize?
