WOULD-BE rock star Daniel O'Shea's dreams of stardom came to an abrupt end at the weekend - when TV viewers chose not vote him into the Fame Academy.
But another York St John College graduate, Alistair Griffin, of Castleton, near Whitby, was the second student to be voted into the Fame Academy training house.
Daniel, 20, from Wilberfoss enjoyed only 90 minutes in the spotlight when his rendition of the Robbie Williams hit, She's The One, failed to win over an armchair audience of millions.
Whitby street busker Alistair, gave the region a continued interest in the show.
The 25-year-old studied English Literatue and History at York St John College, and filled many jobs in the city, including being a steward at the Barbican and taking cereal to snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan.
The judges were unimpressed with Daniel. Voice coach David Grant said his performance was "passionless".
Judge Carrie Grant, known for her bright make-up and red hair, said the former drama and music student was like a "bunny in the head lamps".
