THE Incredible Hulk, a 1960s-style hippie chick and a horse-racing fan joined forces to walk around the York walls to raise money for the Meningitis Trust.
Fourteen children helped by ten adults raised hundreds of pounds for the charity through sponsorship by walking around the historic city defences.
Organiser Tina Malarky held the event as a tribute to Louis White, the 21-month-old son of her friend, Karrin. The youngster died from the disease almost a year ago.
She said the event had received "fantastic support" and all the children, who wore fancy dress for the one-hour walk, were very enthusiastic. Tina was joined by her two daughters, Tara, 12, and Bryna, nine, and many of their school friends.
