WEEKEND shoppers in Selby could hardly believe their eyes as the world's largest bike, above, was pedalled down Gowthorpe.
The 26-seat bike was pedalled from Goole to Selby by energetic fundraisers collecting money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance on Saturday.
The team, made up of Goole Ambulance Station staff, friends and family, took it in turns to pedal the cycle, which resembled a lorry chassis with pedals down the side and a steering wheel at the front.
Others jumped off at designated points, armed with collecting tins.
Ambulance man Steve Harrison, admitted the cyclists attracted a few curious glances.
He said: "It was certainly something different for people to see. They were definitely interested in the bike and what we were riding it for.
"It was hard work, especially in the heat, but also a lot of fun."
