The butler, housemaid and last owner of Treasurer's House in York give a glimpse of what it was like to live there during the 1920s on a new audio guide.
The National Trust property is offering the free electronic guide to visitors alongside voluntary stewards on duty in each of the rooms.
Gillian Cruddas, chief executive of York Tourism Bureau, said the resources helped visitors access much of the fascinating and unusual history of the house.
She said: "I'm sure the new free audio guide will interest people who want to relive some of York's history in an engaging way."
The Treasurer's House, behind York Minster, was the first house to be given to the Trust complete with contents. It is open daily, except Fridays, from 11am until 4.30pm.
