Hawk Flyer, who is among the entries for next month's Great Voltigeur Stakes on Knavesmire, can make that big race a priority by passing his test tomorrow on the first day of Glorious Goodwood.
The colt, trained by Sir Micheal Stoute and the mount of Kieren Fallon, hot-foot from a double at Newmarket yesterday, goes for the Group 3 Peugeot Gordon Stakes.
A beaten odds-on favourite on his debut at York in June, Hawk Flyer has made great strides since.
The greenness he showed first time out on Knavesmire, and which was largely the reason for his defeat, was all but erased next time at Doncaster when he lost his maiden tag in convincing style.
Improving all the time, Hawk Flyer looked even more professional still when beating two rivals in a classified race at Ascot last time.
Tomorrow's race is another step up the ladder. But Hawk Flyer is progressing at such a rate of knots that he is fancied to complete a hat-trick of wins.
Fallon and Stoute also have good prospects of landing the Lennox Stakes with Arakan.
A York winner earlier in the season, this high-class three-year-old lost little caste in defeat when chasing home Membership in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Hambleden, who is nothing if not consistent, should be involved in the business end of the ladbrokes.com Prestige Stakes.
The step up to one and threequarter miles should suit the Michael Jarvis-trained gelding, who chased home Morson Boy over a two furlongs shorter trip at York earlier this month.
Tomorrow's Nap selection is Sualda, who tackles the Jaguar Centre Handicap at Beverley.
Richard Fahey's gelding has taken time to come to hand this season, but there was much to like about his late dash to beat Distant Cousin at Doncaster last time. From a yard in tremendous form, Sualda can follow-up.
Tomorrow's tips:
Goodwood
2.05 Definite Guest, 2.40 Hawk Flyer, 3.15 Arakan, 3.50 Hambleden, 4.25 Venables, 5.00 Border Edge, 5.35 Tahreeb.

2.20 Desert Loch, 2.55 Arkholme, 3.30 Bond Millennium, 4.05 Sualda (Nap), 4.40 Trouble Mountain, 5.15 Party Princess.
There are no other race meetings tomorrow.
Tom O'Ryan's Nap for today's racing is: Faraway Lady (8.30 at Yarmouth).
