A Selby biker killed in a road crash had got engaged only two months ago, it was revealed today.
Roger Prime, 36, of Camblesforth, proposed to his girlfriend, Tracy Marston, while on holiday in the West Indies, in May.
Today, his heartbroken fiance spoke for the first time about the tragedy, following last Sunday's crash on the A63 between Hambleton and Monk Fryston.
Mr Prime, a self-employed carpenter, was killed instantly when his motorbike collided with a silver Vauxhall Astra at the junction of the A63 and Gateforth Lane.
Tracy, who works in a laboratory in Harrogate, said: "I love him so very much - I just can't believe he's not coming home.
"Roger always made me feel the happiest girl in the world, especially when he proposed to me while we were on holiday in May this year.
"I never thought anything like this would happen to my Roger. I always thought he was indestructible."
The couple shared a home together at Brigg Farm Court, Camblesforth.
Mr Prime's carpentry business was based in Harrogate, but they planned to move the business to Camblesforth once they had found a suitable property, with a workshop attached.
Tracy said: "We were making so many plans for the future, both for us and his business, which he built up from nothing with his best friend, Richard.
"They both worked so hard, but enjoyed every minute of it. I am so proud of him."
Mr Prime's devastated father, Martin, of Bishopthorpe, York, said today: "He was a wonderful son and a really good friend to all his mates."
The funeral will take place at Selby Abbey on Monday.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the accident, after which the Astra driver, understood to be from Hambleton, was arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.
