AN EVENING entitled Movement In Squares No 2 takes a journey into the history of ambient music, samples and noise at the Blues Bar, Montepellier Hill, Harrogate, on Monday.
Presented by the Charm team as part of the Harrogate International Festival Fringe, the 8pm event will combine live music by Liquid Fear with experimental recordings by Pink Floyd, Brian Eno, Kraftwerk and DJ Shadow, cherry-picked by Charm.
Charm organiser Graham Chalmers says: "These movements in sound may have begun as some esoteric experimentation by the likes of Stockhausen and John Cage in the early 1960s, but bit by bit over the past 40 years they've spilled over into the rock and dance mainstream."
