A TRAIL to commemorate East Yorkshire's very own Big Foot has received full funding - £5,500 from the Countryside Agency.

Giant footprints are set to appear all over Market Weighton in memory of Britain's tallest man, who was dubbed Giant Bradley.

William Bradley, the town's most famous resident, was born in 1787, and towered over the rest of the townspeople, standing at 7ft 9in.

Market Weighton Civic Trust has now received funding to create a trail of 23 granite footprints throughout the town, the exact size of Bradley's 15-inch shoes.

The trail will include places of interest such as Bradley's birthplace in York Road, his burial site in the local churchyard, the Londesborough Arms and the duck pond.

Now that funding has been approved, the Giant Bradley Heritage Trail is expected to be completed by spring next year.

The footprints will also be tied in with brochures, pointing out buildings and areas of historical interest.
