A LORRY driver has been jailed after causing a man's death by dangerous driving.
Julian Jones, 28, of Gwent, South Wales, was jailed for 18 months after pleading guilty at York Crown Court to causing the death by dangerous driving of Andrew Plummer last year.
Mr Plummer, 32, from Hamilton, in Lanarkshire, Scotland, was killed on the A1 at Kirby Hill, near Boroughbridge, on September 30 last year.
After suffering a punctured car tyre, Mr Plummer was preparing to change the wheel on the hard shoulder when his car was hit by the lorry driven by Jones.
