I COMMEND the efforts of the York City Supporters' Trust and the club's board of directors to save their club, but find their attitude arrogant in their belief that they have a right to be re-housed at the community's expense with a monopoly (if not exclusivity) of tenure.

They have published a proposal for their new dream stadium which is, to say the least, ambitious for a club with no assets. I don't know how they propose funding this, but as they are not the owners of the very basis of the project, ie Huntington Stadium, can they really contemplate building something which will not be theirs? It is nearly a year to the day that the Evening Press revealed plans for an even bigger York City dream stadium.

I believe the City of York Council's outline proposal for a measured and progressive approach is not only sensible, but generous. The new York City FC should be grateful for the lifeline offered by the York community and should learn the need to walk before they break into a gallop.
