Slipper's Barry Noble recorded a superb brace of 16-darters to defeat Sun's Dave Gibbons (17). Paul Partridge (20) put Slipper in front before Tony Cooper's 16 and 20 set up the decider, in which Chris Thompson delivered splendid 16 and 18 darts to keep Sun's 100 per cent record intact.
A brilliant 158 from Martyn Turner spearheaded Clifton to a 4-3 win at Acomb, whose Rob Henman scored 180 for 19 and Andy Morton 21 darts. Turner added a 19 and Martin Waddington a 20, before Graham Sanderson wrapped things up.
Arthur Conyers with a 156 finish starred for Bishopthorpe and Tony Raymond backed with 180 in their 5-2 defeat at Shepherd, whose Mick Willsden closed in 20 darts, while Phil Good steered Mitre 'A' to victory against Cygnet 'B', whose Ian Hartley was their point scorer.
Division two leaders Alice Hawthorn inflicted Blacksmith's Arms first defeat as Jon O'Mara hit a 19-darter, while Tony Brown's 20 was Blackies' best.
Phoenix 'A' kept up the pressure on the leaders with a comfortable win over Mitre 'B'. Sean Robinson included 16 darts and Mark Hartley hit the tons.
A 180 for 18 from Lord Nelson's John Spence secured the win at Boot & Shoe, whose Gavin Turnbull and Stuart Jackson each hit 21 darts.
