A TEENAGER nurtured at Selby Dance Centre has gained a scholarship to the prestigious Northern Ballet School, based in Manchester.
Jennifer Pullon, 16, has attended the Selby centre for the last five years, during which time she also won a place with the Northern Ballet Theatre Company, in Leeds.
Jennifer, from Holme-on-Spalding Moor, attended four classes a week at Selby Dance Centre, where she trained in ballet, tap, modern and singing.
She has also just gained the British Ballet Organisation's Advanced One certificate, in which she was highly commended.
Selby Dance Centre principal Janice Hargreaves, said: "Jennifer is our first pupil to gain a place at the Northern Ballet School and we are very proud of her.
"She is totally dedicated to her training and has the talent to get to the top."
Two of Jennifer's former colleagues at the Selby centre have recently embarked on stage careers.
Gemma Gent, 18, will shortly be setting off on a tour of America, playing the lead role for the internationally-renowned Spirit of the Dance company.
Sally Corbally, 19, who attends the North London College of Performing Arts, has appeared in several West End productions.
