Thousands of second-hand books are on sale at Central Methodist Church, in St Saviourgate, York, as part of an effort by a former York minister to raise funds for the Englesea Brook Museum of Primitive Methodism, in the Potteries.
The Rev Stephen Hatcher said his latest sale, open daily from 10am to 5pm, would close tomorrow. The book sale is among a number of charity events which lost their former "home" at St Martin-cum-Gregory Church, Micklegate, when church authorities decided that electrical circuits there were unsafe.
