AM I the only parent in York who does not want to go shopping on the first day of the summer holidays and be confronted by displays shrieking "Back To School"?
Give us a break.
Give me at least a few weeks of not having to think about pack-ups, dinner money for the other, bus fares, PE kits, food technology ingredients and I-don't-know-where-did-you-put-your-recorder?
The day after they go back to school, the first Christmas trees will appear. Never mind global warming, retailers are playing havoc with our seasons.
