THE ARCHITECTURAL magnificence of York Minster is being celebrated in a new book.
The outstanding cathedral, the largest in Northern Europe, has been studied by renowned architectural historian Sarah Brown, for English Heritage.
Her book was launched at the Minster by Dr David Hope, the Archbishop of York, and Canon Glyn Webster, Acting Dean of the Minster.
Minster spokesman Brigadier Peter Lyddon said: "It has taken her years to produce it and I think the result is stunning and much welcomed.
"It is full of wonderful pictures and huge detail.
"It is just mind-boggling and we welcome it, it is another chapter in the history of this amazing building."
