BUDDING Harry Potters can take part in a young wizards' summer school as part of activities on offer over the school holidays.
The Summer Days and Oasis programmes organised by the City of York Council include a series of events aimed at keeping children occupied over the school holidays. The Summer Days programme is aimed at children between five and 13 and offers a range of activities including a pool party at Water World, football coaching and a wildlife fun day.
The Oasis programme is for children aged 11 and upwards and offers the chance for them to get involved in a scriptwriting, editing and acting course, and canoeing and tennis coaching. Youngsters of all ages can get involved in being part of their own rock band, training with York Knights and photography.
Development worker Mary Bailey, said: "We have planned our biggest and best summer programme ever.
"There are some fantastic projects which are spread across a range of venues to ensure they are easily accessible.
"Many courses are free of charge but some places are limited so we suggest you book early."
