I WAS surprised that the Rock Church in York, which staged an excellent show in Parliament Street, had no mention in your weekend events page (July 14).

It was a great show with music, dancing, face-painting, children's crche, balloons and much more, with such a friendly, warm welcome for everyone. I noticed a lot of foot-tapping and smiling faces.

Everyone concerned must have put a great deal of effort to get it going so well. What was more amazing everything was free, even the cool fruit drinks and on such a hot day, most welcome.

Well done everyone, you all put on a lovely, lively show.

Can we have another soon?
