Wigginton have boosted their Fulford Ladies Invitation League division four title hopes at the double.
They followed a narrow 55-53 victory over leaders Heworth with a 58-50 win over Tollerton to move into second place.
Pauline Wreglesworth and Sue Espiner brought Wigginton level in the final round with a 7-5 win against Tollerton and the points were secured by Denise Crane and Ann Mead's 10-2 victory in the final game.
Tollerton did manage to move out of the drop zone by beating Strensall 60-48 with Dot Hornby and Jill Quigley collecting 23 games.
Division one strugglers Civil Service and Bishopthorpe meet each other next week in a crucial battle in the fight to avoid the drop.
Civil Service lost 60-48 against Tadcaster whose Lorraine Peary and Jane Firn won 27 games but were held 6-6 by Wendy Cook and Jackie Ritchie, who won 25 games.
York looked to have the title in the bag again after beating rivals Fulford 67-41 despite Louise Lister and Wendy Stirke losing 7-5 to in-form Jill McCreedy and Di Ekers.
Castlegath clocked up two good wins against Knaresborough and Rowntree Park to move a step nearer a return to the top flight. Park look set for the drop from division two after crashing 80-25 to Appleton Roebuck.
Copmanthorpe beat a new-look York side 62-46. The experienced Sue Green and Margaret Whitehead, who were top scorers, just defeating York newcomer Lucy White and partner Jenny Ashley.
Poppleton beat Wistow 60-48 in division three to move into second spot behind leaders Cawood. Dee Robinson and Sue Sandle won three close rubbers for Poppleton.
Judith Moks and Kate Jenkins were in sparkling form against Boston Spa in division five, winning 28 games in a 67-41 victory.
