SO few girls have entered this year's York Junior Tennis Championships that no finals will be played.
It follows a worrying trend for local tennis officials who have had to cancel women's events in the York Municipal Championships in the last two years.
Numbers are down on last year with a total of only a dozen girls entering in four age groups. With three girls in each group, they will play each other on a round-robin basis.
York, Fulford and Wigginton TCs have provided the largest number of players for the boys' events, but there has been a low entry from other clubs in the York area.
The championships will be at the University of York on July 26-27.
