YORK'S Joe Lumb Under-17 side continued their good form with a 35-run victory over the Heavy Woollen District at Liversedge.
Openers Nathan Briggs (Hemingbrough) and Leon Sacks (Acomb) put on 80 to provide a good platform for York's 214-9.
Sacks made 42 and Briggs 76, his half century coming off 81 balls in 69 minutes.
Heavy Woollen spin bowler James Russell took 4-21 in nine overs, including the stumping of Briggs.
An early wicket for Neil Laidlaw (Thirsk) put pressure of Heavy Woollen and he and Craig Piggott were able to swing the ball.
Wickets continued to fall and although Heavy Woollen were keeping up with the run rate found themselves 81-4.
Stephen Blackburn made a useful 40, but York kept chipping away and bowled them out for 179, Richard Allman taking 4-21 in 5.4 overs and Laidlaw 3-27 in 11 overs.
