AN HISTORICAL partnership has been formed to bring York's past to life for visitors.
The Jorvik Pastport, which will provide free and discounted entry to many of York's tourist hot spots, has been compiled in an effort to boost tourism in the region.
The scheme is also designed to encourage local residents to take advantage of activities that are available on their doorstep.
Holders of the Pastport will be entitled to a number of benefits, ranging from free entry to the Jorvik Viking Centre and the Archaeological Resource Centre (ARC), to half-price admission to the Archaeology Live! Dig and 25 per cent off admission to Clifford's Tower.
For those who wish to experience York in the 21st century, the Pastport also offers a ten per cent discount on a meal at Russells Restaurants and an exclusive savings booklet for the McArthur Glen designer outlet.
The Pastport is valid from July 21 to March 31, and can be purchased at the admissions desk of both Jorvik and the ARC, or through the Jorvik booking line.
Pastport prices are adult £11, child £8.
