A RACEHORSE owner was taken to hospital with a broken jaw and pelvis after an accident at Ripon racecourse.
Judith Foden, who owns the horse Peter's Puzzle with her husband, Peter, was stood on by another horse, Belts And Braces, before Saturday's race.
The horse backed into Mrs Foden and her husband as the jockeys were mounting and knocked Mrs Foden over before standing on her. She was taken by ambulance to Harrogate District Hospital.
Trainer Richard Fahey, who trains the couple's filly at Butterwick, near Malton, said that surgery was being carried out on Mrs Foden's face.
He said: "It's a very unfortunate incident."
