RENOWNED cellist Julian Lloyd Webber will treat city music lovers to a few bars from his new band when he plays in York next month.
Julian, brother of world-famous composer Andrew, is set to delight Knavesmire when Bossa Nova play at York Racecourse on August 9.
Concert-goers will be treated to new interpretations of modern classics as they sway along to the likes of Girl From Ipanema, The Look of Love and many more.
Julian, widely regarded as one of the most creative musical talents of his generation, said: "I'm delighted to be playing again in York.
"It's a city I love and of which I have very fond memories. The band is only a small combination. I founded it in April and we will be performing for the first time in August.
"I'm a bossa nova supporter. I love the music, it has a Brazilian flavour and I love playing it."
Tickets are now on sale priced £15 and upwards. For information, and to book, phone the Aria box office on 01642 777778.
