MATTHEW Woodwill lead a strong Yorkshire side against Woodhouse Grange on Tuesday in Steve Oldham's testimonial game (2pm start).

Although the Tykes will be missing England players Michael Vaughan, Anthony McGrath and the recalled Darren Gough, they are putting out a star-studded side against the York and District Senior League side.

Top of the list are England internationals Craig White, Chris Silverwood and Ryan Sidebottom all of whom are in the squad for the match at Sutton-on-Derwent.

A squad of 12 players has been named and Yorkshire, like their hosts, are likely to operate a roll-on, roll-off fielding side so all the players should be seen on the field during the afternoon.

White is currently taking time off from bowling due to a persistent side injury - but his batting is proving more than useful with back-to-back centuries in the last two first class matches against Derbyshire and Durham.

Silverwood will be hoping to prove he is fit after a heel problem over the last fortnight. Silverwood, along with his fellow speedsters Ryan Sidebottom and Steve Kirby, have in the last month began to gel back into the formidable attack they were in 2001.

Michael Lumb, fresh from a call to Rod Marsh's ECB academy, will want to show the fans why he is so highly rated and continue the form which has seen him rise up the national first class batting averages.

Three players in the Yorkshire squad have previously played at Woodhouse Grange.

Former Wilberfoss overseas player Andy Gray, fresh off a maiden first class century at Somerset's Taunton ground, will return to his York Senior League roots.

Young all-rounder Tim Bresnan played one game against Woodhouse Grange's second X1 for his club Castleford in York Senior League division two in 2000.

The side, in McGrath's absence, will be led by Wood - a recruit to the inaugural ECB academy in 2001-2002, who was recently bouyed by a second career double hundred against Somerset.

Yorkshire's two overseas players will be also on show.

Stephen Fleming will become the third New Zealand Test player to grace Sutton-on-Derwent after Martin Crowe and Mark Greatbatch, while Yuvraj Singh will be the first Indian international to play at Woodhouse Grange.

The squad is bolstered by Vic Craven and wicketkeeper Simon Guy.

Grange also include both of their Pakistani international overseas players, batsman Kamran Sajid (Pakistan U-19), and last season's pace bowler Kashif Raza, a former Pakistan one-day international who is playing for East Bierley in the Bradford League this season.

Play will begin at 2pm at Grange's Sandhill Lane ground, just outside the village of Sutton-on-Derwent.

Entry on the day is available at £3 or £1.50 for concessions.
