SOUND improvements continue to be made on match-days at Huntington Stadium.
Supporters in the Main Stand may have noticed the sound system speakers on that side of the ground have now been moved to the back of the underside of the roof, facing the pitch, rather than on the running track facing the fans.
The speakers on the Popular side are also to move to the underside back of that stand, once the safety wiring has been completed. The changes are to make the sound better and also mean club staff don't have to drag the speakers out every match-day.
The new improved system was well and truly tested out on Sunday as the music to celebrate home scores was repeatedly blaring out.
Indeed, Gary Hall, who looks after the music decks on match-days, was running out of tunes with which to celebrate tries such was the Knights' happy propensity to get over the line.
Incidentally, Gary - the man who organised that famous crisis meeting in March 2002 - reached a milestone himself this week as he turned 50 two days after the Knights gave him an early birthday present.
KNIGHTS fans, and their Keighley counterparts, paid great respect to the late Robin Divorty last week. The minute's silence before the game was impeccably upheld by the record crowd at Huntington Stadium.
Mr Divorty had been a great servant to rugby league, especially in the York area, where his latest work was as a junior coach at New Earswick All Blacks alongside his son, former Great Britain forward Gary. His death is a great loss.
