SCHOOL'S out for the summer, prompting Fibbers to introduce matinee shows for the holiday season.
From July 22 through to August 28, the live music bar in Stonebow, York will host twice-weekly Afternoon All Ages Shows for the 14-plus age group on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Doors will open at noon for the Staying Out For The Summer line-ups, each bill featuring four or five bands between 1.15pm and 5pm.
For the opening show on July 22, Intentions Of An Asteroid are new additions, booked to play alongside Waster, Fado Rock, The Retro Spankees and Solstice. July 24's line-up is Honeytone Cody, Independent State, She's Not Dead and The Hell Raisers; July 29,The Barbs, Eyesore, Non-Systematic, Stent; July 31, RSJ, Antiproduct, The Holiday Plan and Nerve Harvest.
August begins with The Revs, Vetro Baby, Engerica and Torsohorse on August 5.
Then come Beyond All Reason, Morgan 4, Customer 1000 and Illsonix, on August 7; Number One Son, Dumstruck, Scarlet Tears and Losing Sunday Drive, on August 12; Catylyst, Solstice, Stent and one other to be confirmed, August 14; Audience With A Crisis, Numbfoot, She's Not Dead, Pony Club and Bull Moose Jackson, August 19; Vetro Baby, Torsohorse, Lorax, Eyesore and Milk Tea, August 21; red:shift, Non-Systematic, Chu Ma Shu and Lorax, August 26; Duck Sick, Waster, Shuriken, Losing Sunday Drive and The Hellraisers, August 28. Please note, the first band named on each bill will be the last on stage.
Fibbers manager Tim Hornsby says: "It would have made a far more peaceful summer to have just carried on with evening shows as usual - better for the tan as well - but everybody at Fibbers has really put a lot of effort in to this series.
"If it's a success, there's no reason why we can't do similar runs during other school holidays, and it really is dead cheap: admission is a pocket money-busting £3."
