THE Barbs will headline the Staying Out For The Summer show on July 29 at Fibbers, as part of a 13-date tour to promote their debut single, Massive Crush.
Released through Mother Tongue Records on August 18, this limited-edition single features the title track with its two minutes of punk energy, plus Straight Outa Comix and Bad Waves.
In the band are Tim Box, who once worked in a brothel; and fellow singer and guitarist Amy Casey, whose talents to shear a sheep and play with only three strings on her guitar are in no way related. Bassist Jim Tucker has a blank music stave on his arm so he can jot down musical ideas at any time, and drummer Simon Hartop is a keen angler once pictured in Carp World magazine.
The Barbs have been together for just over a year. Box, Tucker and Hartop met at college in London and discovered Australian Amy through placing an advert in a music paper.
