AFTER two scorchingly hot days and a batting feast provided by both sides, the Yorkshire v Lancashire second XI championship game at Stamford Bridge was brought to an abrupt end by the weather.
With water still standing on parts of the ground, the match was abandoned earlier today and declared a draw.
Chasing a Yorkshire total of 534-5 declared, Lancashire progressed steadily during the three hours of play possible yesterday.
From an overnight 233-2, the visitors had reached 373-3, with Mark Currie unbeaten on 172, when torrential rain intervened and halted proceedings.
Within minutes, the Low Catton Road ground was left resembling a boating lake.
