Archbishop of York Junior School flew the flag for Yorkshire at Trent Bridge this week, after a terrific victory at Headingley.
The Bishopthorpe youngsters beat the best in Yorkshire as they triumphed in the county's eight-a-side Kwik Cricket competition at the historic Test match ground in Leeds.
They beat regional winners from Sheffield, Rotherham and Middlesbrough as they progressed comfortably to the semi-finals of the competition at Nottingham.
At Headingley, they faced Gladstone Road from Scarborough and squeezed through by three runs in a tense match.
Archbishop's came up against St Mary's from Beverley in the final, but the York side were too good and claimed the trophy by 20 runs.
They opened their semi-final campaign by winning their first group match against Sion Mills, from Derry in Northern Ireland, by 27 runs.
Archbishop of York were then beaten by one run by Luton-based Downside, but victory in their final game against Dorset representatives St Michael's C of E Middle School would have been good enough to reach the final. However, St Michael's proved just that bit better on the day and won by eight runs.
