THE Hunters York and District Senior Cricket League Under-21 side missed out on reaching the White Rose Trophy final for the first time when they were outplayed by the Halifax League at Old Town.
A York victory would have set up a home game with the Yorkshire County Premier League in the final on August 3.
The York League was forced to field a weakened team due mainly to players being required by their own clubs for cup games.
Sheriff Hutton Bridge's Danny Snowball's 60 helped York to a moderate 162 all out which Halifax passed for the loss of just five wickets.
York made a poor start and were 45-5 in just 16 overs, and despite Snowball's knock were unable to post a big enough score.
