A new conservation initiative in Pocklington has won funding from the npower Conservation Awards to create a new wildlife area.
The Pocklington School project will involve clearing a pond of waste and creating a meadow encouraging wildlife to move into the area. The scheme, run by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, recognises efforts to support the environment and supports projects groups would not otherwise afford.
