OUR daughter and son-in-law were married at the Parsonage Country House Hotel at Escrick in June and everything was excellent.

People are always quick to criticise but not to praise, so here is credit where it is due. Thank you to everyone at the Parsonage for our perfect day.

...and ours...

A BIG thank you from York Cats Protection to all those who helped in any way to make our open day at the Shelter on July 5 such a success.

Hundreds of people came to support the event which raises funds to care for the cats and kittens at the Shelter.

Eleven cats and kittens were offered new homes the very next day.

Those of you who saw "Orphan Annie" in the Evening Press on July 5, will be pleased to know she has now gone to her new home in Strensall.

...don't forget ours!

MY family from Wales applaud the excellent organisation of all the activities pertaining to the degree ceremony at York University on Friday, July 11.

Their daughter, Sarah, received more than her BA degree: she also appreciated the ambience, the warmth of the reception for families and students, and the helpful, polite security people.

Dame Janet Baker's speech will also add much to Sarah's memory.

J Crawshaw,

Hempland Avenue, York.
