YOUNG jazz musicians from a York school were given the chance to perform at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
The group from Manor School called Manjazz includes more than 30 musicians aged between 11 and 16.
They won the opportunity after taking part in regional heats during the National Festival of Music for Youth.
The youngsters did not come back with any prizes but director of music at the school, Clive Wass, said the honour of playing at the venue was enough.
He said: "The children got a chance to see groups from all over the country performing and experience jazz at a wider level.
"They got to see the cream of young jazz musicians and it was a great honour to play at the festival hall."
