YORKSHIRE put themselves in a strong position on the first day of their four-day Second XI championship match against Lancashire at Stamford Bridge.
Taking advantage of first knock on a fast track, with even bounce, the Yorkshire batsmen made hay while the sun shone.
Chris Taylor and Scott Richardson figured in an opening partnership of 107 when Taylor departed for 64 just before the lunch break.
Richardson, run out for 83, and Gavin Hamilton took the score to 191 and Hamilton and Gary Fellows (81) put on a further 149.
At the close Hamilton was still at the crease unbeaten on 123, and the Yorkshire score had climbed to 373-4.
