St Peter's School rower Daniel Janes is on the crest of international glory.
The 17-year-old has been selected to skull the Great Britain Under-18 quad at the forthcoming Coupe de la Jeulnnesse in Hazelwinkel, Belgium - the European Championships.
Janes will join his new GB team-mates at the prestigious Dawney Lake at Eton College for training weekends and weeks before travelling to Belgium for the championships, which are scheduled to take place on August 2-3.
Janes was part of the quad crew that recently represented York's St Peter's School at the famous Henley Regatta, where they reached the quarter-finals.
Joining Janes in the quad sculling for Great Britain will be Nick Fox from Marlow Rowing Club, Edwin Wilson from Chester and Josh Davis from Tidewell Scullers.
And all have high hopes of returning with a medal from the championships.
