Derek Willan didn't just break the match record for Maple Lake at the Oaks on Sunday - he obliterated it.

The Sensas Garbolino-backed star scored his second Yorkshire ton of the week winning the 59-pegger with 129lb 9oz to add more than 40lb to the previous best set recently by current matchman of the year Dean Smith.

Drawn on corner peg 66, he worked with loose fed casters and chopped worm taking carp around the pound mark up in the water at 11 metres.

Addie Mitchell (HAS Oaks) continued his great recent form with second in a brilliant contest, where 40lb was needed to win every section, from peg 16. Targeting the far-side at 12 metres with pellets, he had 60lb 5oz of carp to 4lb.

Others: Paul Sheehan (Sensas Garbolino) 51-2-0; Tony Neesom (Oaks) 49-8-0; Andy Stock (Wilton) 49-0-0; Neil Machin (Sensas Garbolino) 48-12-0.

It was hard going for the 50-field Bradford Open on a clear River Nidd at Cowthorpe.

Tony Flaherty (Bradford NO1) needed just 14lb 12oz for victory from the fish-packed venue.

Pegged 32 above the rapids, he legered caster for six chub and a barbel.

There was a tie for second. Tony Gelderd (Bradford NO1) was on the bridge peg 5 where he used stick and caster for his 14lb of chub. Dave Marshall (Bradford NO1) was at peg 44, the gas pipe, and had three barbel on bomb and caster for the same total.
