TWO York men have been remanded in custody by magistrates in Harrogate accused of being part of a shoplifting raid on a supermarket in the town.
The pair, Rocky Gordon Parker and Jason Francis Smith, were arrested in the car park of the Asda store in Bower Road. Police are still looking for a third person said to have been involved.
The two men appeared in court yesterday, with Smith, 26, of Doherty Walk, Acomb, facing an allegation of joint theft of food and drink worth £254.06.
He is also accused of driving while disqualified and without insurance.
Parker, 20, of Bramham Road, Chapelfields, is accused of attempting to steal two bottles of spirits valued at £25.29.
He is also charged with obstructing police.
Presiding magistrate David Davies refused bail applications on behalf of both men and remanded them in custody for a week.
