Clifton ALLIANCE won the Minster Engineering Senior Charity Cricket Cup, beating York in the final at Clifton Park.
York took first innings and reached 123-6 in their allotted overs thanks mainly to a hard-hitting knock of 58 from Aussie Nash Stone. He was supported by 29 from Will Warne.
Mick Pickering was Clifton Alliance's best bowler,with 2-28.
Clifton Alliance made a fast start to their reply but at midway had fallen behind the required run rate at 48-2.
Aussie skipper Luke Wells pulled his side back into the game with 72, aided by an 18 run ove, and was made Man of the Match. He was dismissed when only 12 runs were needed and despite losing two further wickets Clifton Alliance won with four balls to spare. York's S Hunter took 3-32 and J Patel 2-16.
Greg Allison, managing director of competition sponsors Minster Engineering, presented the trophies and prize money.
