Generous visitors raised £1,300 at a special village garden open day.
Residents in Thornton-le-Dale, near Pickering, opened their gates to visitors to collect cash for the village's NSPCC branch.
Yvonne Kitchen-Walker, who helped organise the event, said: "People really did come from far and wide and lots of them were returning because they thought it was so lovely last year.
"It was a scorching day and everyone said they had a wonderful time."
