HAVING read the letter about the removal of old Victorian lampposts (July 5), and to ensure that the one outside my house in this conservation area of Clifton remains in situ, I would be willing to pay for it to be repainted.
This would preserve an attractive feature of York's heritage, and save both the council and taxpayers the cost of replacing it.
Mrs AE Walker,
Rawcliffe Grove,
Clifton, York.
